Shoulder Pain? Try This…

Shoulder pain is a common problem for people who work at a desk or on a computer.

Firstly, most people who suffer from shoulder pain all share one unfortunate common trait… poor posture. Usually their shoulders are rounded (slouched) with their head far forward from their shoulders. This puts a lot of strain into the upper back and restricts normal shoulder movement, which creates pain.

One quick fix? Take a short standing break can help significantly!

But this one technique that I have given to my patients for years almost always brings a sigh of relief:

Stand up and let your arms rest at the side with your palms facing forward.

Now, this is the important part: Keep your shoulders down and relaxed and lightly squeeze the bottom of your shoulder blades together. As you do this, gently bring your head straight back, not tipping your head back or dropping your chin. You should notice that your head is above your shoulders now so your upper back muscles don’t have to work so hard.

This is a great technique and corrects the main cause of shoulder pain from poor posture.

Try this and do it several times a day, or as needed.

Here’s to your good health!
