When Was Your Last (Complete) Tune-up?

You check your car’s oil regularly, get your teeth cleaned every 6 months, and hopefully change your smoke detector’s batteries twice a year.

But what are you doing about the “‘vehicle” that takes you everywhere… when was the last time you had YOUR FRAME checked?

The physical exam that most specialists perform on you once a year has little to nothing to do with your ability to move.

They’ll have a look in your mouth, check your lungs and heart, palpate your neck and abdomen, draw blood… and it’s, “See you next year!

At your last exam, were you checked for the ability to move your arms, legs, back and neck freely and with complete range of motion?

Were your limbs tested for their strength?

What about your balance? Checked?

If these areas were not tested, how will you know that you are not becoming more susceptible to falls or steadily getting weaker and/or less mobile?

If you are not getting evaluated for these things, how will you know the TRUE condition of your body? Strength, balance, mobility, and of course your overall cardiovascular health, are a huge piece of the wellbeing puzzle. Without knowing where you are in these areas, you won’t have the full picture.

Seek out a specialist who will help you monitor these important areas, and someone who will put you on a program to keep you strong and healthy as you age. Subtle changes in your cardiovascular health, mobility, balance, and strength can really sneak up on you when you’re not looking!
