My wife is constantly showing me video sales letters she has received in her email on ‘The One Exercise for Back Pain Sufferers’, usually from someone trying to sell a program on back pain. The video demonstrates the one exercise they think is the The Holy Grail for back pain sufferers.
Most of the time people have already tried it or a similar exercise and may have had short term relief, but no long term benefit.
When I look at it I can immediately tell it’s value/usefulness or lack thereof.
How? By how it aligns with body mechanics and a person’s general lifestyle.
Giving you the correct tools for getting out of pain requires a good working knowledge of body mechanics in order to determine what is needed to correct the situation.
Having a ‘one trick pony’ approach doesn’t work in overcoming a lifetime of accidents, traumas, sports injuries and stressful work habits. Knowing what your daily home, work and leisure activities are will determine what your specific treatment and exercise protocol you will need.
